It aims to equip individuals with the skills needed to achieve lasting success.

*Medi-Cal Beneficiary Engagement
As of late 2024, Medi-Cal enrollment in Kern County is notably high, with approximately 50% of Kern County residents enrolled in the program. Medi-Cal provides free or low-cost health insurance for eligible individuals, including low-income families, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and foster youth. In Kern County, this substantial enrollment underscores the significant role Medi-Cal plays in providing healthcare access to the county's population. Notably, as of January 1, 2024, Medi-Cal eligibility was expanded to include all income-eligible individuals aged 26 through 49, regardless of immigration status. This expansion aims to increase healthcare access among underserved populations. Given this context, Skye's the Limit Production Wellness Institute’s programs, such as SecureStep Housing Transition, Keys for Life, and Pathway to Empowerment, are well-positioned to serve a substantial number of Medi-Cal beneficiaries. These initiatives align with the needs of the community, providing essential services that complement the healthcare coverage Medi-Cal offers. For residents seeking to apply for Medi-Cal or explore eligibility, the Kern County Department of Human Services provides resources and assistance. Applications can be submitted online through BenefitsCal, by phone, or in person at various county offices.
